{"id":15,"date":"2008-05-03T15:16:46","date_gmt":"2008-05-03T19:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.santoro.com\/mamenation\/control-panel-details\/"},"modified":"2008-05-03T15:16:46","modified_gmt":"2008-05-03T19:16:46","slug":"control-panel-details","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mamenation.com\/?page_id=15","title":{"rendered":"Controls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I didn&#8217;t use Scott&#8217;s control panel layout, rather I designed a bi-level control panel with the following features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two-Player, six button capability<\/li>\n<li>Trackball for Centipede, Missile Command, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Spinner for Tempest, Tron, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Coin buttons for quarter free operation (though the coin box will accept quarters and register credit)<\/li>\n<li>Raised shelf provides a flat area to accommodate integrated cup holders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 3&#8243; Happ trackball is lit by a Radio Shack high-brightness LED wired to the PC power supply with a voltage limiting resistor. (Oscar Controls has a good write-up on how to do this <a href=\"http:\/\/mirrors.arcadecontrols.com\/OscarControls\/led\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>(Caveat for anyone considering a 2-tier arrangement like mine, I played a few bowling and golf games after reading <a href=\"http:\/\/forum.arcadecontrols.com\/index.php?board=10;action=display;threadid=13204\">this thread.<\/a> The shelf is a bit in the way for those games where you need to give the trackball a really fast, straight roll.
